Colors! :)

My kids are suddenly obsessed with rainbows. They saw one on TV the other day, and now that's all they are talking about. :) They keep trying to get me to make one in the sky, and I have to keep explaining that if I could I would, but that's out of mommy's realm of control! :) So we've been making pictures of rainbows instead. And in honor of all of the colors on my fridge at the moment, here is a selection of Etsy rainbows!

What could be better then a beautiful spring day?

A beautiful spring night! :) Probably not going to happen tonight though, as it is very cloudy and raining at the moment, but I'm hoping it at least turns partly cloudy instead, because tonight is a full moon! Well actually it's tomorrow, but it's during the day, so I figure the night before and after count too. :) Some people think that a full moon brings out all the crazy people. I wouldn't be surprised if it has some effect on people, but most of the people I deal with regularly (like my family and friends) are already crazy, so not much of a difference there. ;) Anyway, I hope you enjoy this selection inspired by a spring night! :)

~ sniff ~ ~ snort ~

Ugg! Not a good weekend! Okay well Saturday was okay, and I followed my own advise and took the whole day to unplug from the computer (well most of the day). But Sunday my husband and I ended up with some sort of virus that wiped us out most of the day. And today, I can't breathe through my nose. :( HOPEFULLY I'll be feeling better by tomorrow, but I'm not counting on it. Anyway, there is no way I'm getting an offical post done today, but I'll definately try to work on one for tomorrow this evening when the reenforcements return. :) I hope you all had a great weekend! And here's to hoping we all have a great week! :)

Oh, and just so I have something to post, I finished another treasury Saturday night.

Strawberries! Yum!

Enjoy! :)

Friday!!! Yay!!!

I am soooo glad it's finally Friday! It has been a looooooong week! That being said, I didn't have time yesterday to get a post together for today, because my children were being crazy! I did however, get another Treasury East treasury made. So I guess I'll post that here, so you have something to look at. :)

Stars, Sky, Earth, & Water

I got the idea while working on yesterday's post. The idea is that the top line is space and the stars, the second line is the sky and clouds, the third line is the earth and everything green, and the last line is the water and the seas. I like how it turned out, and I think it goes nicely with yesterday's mini treasury. :)

I did run into a problem while doing the ocean line though, it got me thinking about summer and going to the beach. :(

I sooooo wish it was summer now! Those few "hot" days we had at the beginning of the month totally spoiled me. Oh well, I'm sure summer will be here before we know it!

Have a sunny day everyone! :)

Happy Earth Day 2010!

Today is a a day to celebrate our home: the Earth. No matter who we are, no matter what we look like, or believe, the Earth is our home. It is our job to take care of it as best we can. I'm not sure if I believe in global warming, and I'm not the greatest at recycling, but I do think we should all do our part to keep our air, water, and earth clean. The best way to help, is to help locally. Make sure you put your garbage in the trash can when you picnic at the park. Don't pour chemicals or used motor oil into the storm drains in the street. And if you see garbage on the street, or anywhere else, pick it up. If you keep your little piece of the world clean, maybe it will inspire others to do the same. :)

Kids still not sleeping...

I missed yesterday's post because I don't think I fully woke up for the day till about 5pm. I mean I was awake, but I wasn't "awake". :) I really hope my kids start sleeping through the night again, it's beginning to feel like I have newborns again, just without all the bottle washing.

Anyway, I wanted to start doing a birthstone and flower of the month theme, towards the beginning of each month, but I kinda missed the beginning of the month for April. In May I'm planning on doing them in the first and second week of the month, but since it's almost the end of April, I'm going to do them the same week this month. We've already done the birthstone for April, which was diamond, so now we shall move onto the flower of the month, which is the Daisy or
Sweet Pea.

Sweet Peas come in many different colors and have a sweet, fragrant smell, that gives them their name. Daises have yellow centers and delicate white petals, and are actually one of my favorite flowers. :) I hope you all enjoy this delightful April bouquet!

The Month of the Diamond

April's birthstone is a clear, white diamond. Diamonds are the hardest substance found naturally on earth, and one of the most brilliant when polished correctly. They can be used in art, jewelry, and even in industry for diamond tipped saws and drills. They are also the traditional stone for engagement rings and are associated with lasting love. As they say, "A diamond is forever." :) So in honor of all of you who have a birthday this month, here is a collection of Etsy diamonds in the rough!

Listen my children and you shall hear...

Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere,
On the eighteenth of April, in Seventy-five;
Hardly a man is now alive
Who remembers that famous day and year.

- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
It's been 235 years since Paul Revere took his famous ride through Massachusetts to warn the colonists that the British were coming! Two lanterns were lit in the Old North Church in Boston, to warn that the British were coming by sea. And he rode through the night to Concord to warn the men there to be ready!

You can read the whole poem here, and if you never have, you should. And while it is not historically accurate it is a really good read. Enjoy! :)

I have to brag for a minute.

Okay so I told myself that I would take Saturdays off from posting for awhile, but this isn't really an official post. My husband had so much fun making pizza on Thursday, that he decided to do it again today. And boy oh boy was it good! This time I remembered to take pictures before I ate it! :) So here it is, my husband's hand-tossed white pizza!

Isn't that beautiful? It makes me hungry for another slice!

The toppings are very simple, just olive oil, fresh mozzarella, garlic, and dried thyme. And of course the slightly crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside crust!

Doesn't that smell divine?? :D

Oh, that's right, you can't smell it can you? What a shame! ;) I'll see if I can talk him into letting me post the recipe. Anyway have a great rest of the day, and I'll see you tomorrow! :)

Yummy Yum Yum! :D

Yesterday my husband tried out making home-made cheese pizza for the first time! And oh boy was it good! The only bad thing was, I ate too much! ;) He says the crust recipe can be made into bread sticks instead of pizza. Maybe I'll have him make that tonight! :) So now, for your nomming pleasure, check out all these cool pizza themed items on Etsy!

~ YAWN! ~

Some of you might have noticed that I didn't post yesterday. There's a funny story there. If you've read my last post, you know that Monday night my kids were restless, and didn't sleep well, meaning I was awake a lot in the night. Tuesday I woke up tired and thought it would be cute to do a bed related post cause I was tired. I had no idea what tired was when I posted that post!

Tuesday night around 2:00am one of my twins had there first "real" nightmare. You know, the kind you remember when you wake up, that you think about all day the next day, cause it creeped you out so much? Well that was the kind he had. He told me that there were eyes on the ceiling and monsters in his room, and he would NOT go back to sleep. I got him to fall asleep briefly a couple times, but at 5am I gave up and woke my husband up an hour early and put them both in front of the TV in the living room with blankets and went back to bed.

Needless to say, yesterday I was basically the walking dead, which equals no posting. I actually tried working on some sewing in the afternoon, but I was so tired I sewed the face on the front of the bunny and the ears on the back, so I stopped! :) But, THANK GOD ABOVE he slept through the night last night, or I would be even more dead today!

So since my last couple days (and nights) have been dealing with monsters, that shall be today's theme! (Don't worry, they aren't too scary. Scary things scare me!) ;)
