Just a quick post today.

My youngest is sick again. This time he has croup. I swear there has not been a month this year where all of us were healthy at the same time! At least it's nice out today. I'm gonna open up all the windows and air out the house a bit. I'm hoping for a nice breezy afternoon. :)

In other news my cousin Amber, formally thewanderingknitter, has just opened up a new shop and filled it with knitted goodness. Here new shop is called threadbareknitter and it is chock full of cute kitties, scarves, and knit bags. This is my current favorite kitten she has for sale:

Mia the Orphaned Kitten

Okay, that's it for the moment. Tomorrow, more from my treasury series: Across Etsy. Its theme will be Holidays! :) Have a great day! :)

If I had the time...

...(and no kids) what would I do? Here is my top eight!

1. Sleep in! At least once a week.
2. Go out to dinner with just my husband and not have to worry about rushing back!
3. Listen to music somewhere calm and relaxing, without having to pause it every three seconds to break up a fight.
4. Soak in the pool ALL day!
5. Go for a nice quiet walk in the woods.
6. Take a LONG relaxing bath, without people banging on the door every two minutes!
7. Eat a whole bag of cookies, without sharing!
8. Watch a movie, during the day, that isn't rated G!

I think I might be getting cabin fever, what do you think? ;) Being stuck in the house for going on two weeks with sick kids is NO FUN AT ALL! But they are too cute to give away, and I have too much money invested in them to get a good price, so I guess I'll have to keep them. ;) Today's mini treasury is part of a bigger treasury based on my top 8 Things To Do If I Had Time list. :)

Epic Weekend!

This was one of the best weekends in a long time! :) Friday night we took the kids to see fireworks. Saturday we relaxed all day, then my brothers and cousins came over and we hung out for a bit and played games. :)

Sunday which was the 4th of July was awesome! We hung out at home for the morning, and I worked on some treasuries. And...

One of them made it to the front page!!! :D I've never had anything make it to the front page before! Congrats to PamlicoBee, qacreate, asherjasper, EleganceFarm, ShoeBoxMemoriesDLuxe, queenartist, owlcreekceramics, QuiltsbyShirley, Mazizmuse, H20works, photodillon, and MySillyBear! And thanks to them and to SimpleJoysPaperie, greenbaboondesigns, CortneyLei, and ItzFitz for making this treasury special enough to get picked for the front page! :) I couldn't have gotten there without you! :)

I also made another Americana treasury on Sunday (I was having too much fun!).

~ America the Beautiful ~

I based this one on the song of the same name. Each picture and the item to its right, is part of a line from the first verse. It was fun to make. :) I like doing treasuries based on songs and poems. It makes it more interesting to find pieces that match them. :)

Anyway after we had hung out at the house for a bit, we went to my mom's to go swimming. It was the perfect night for it! The air was warm, the water was warm, and there was hardly any breeze. When we got home it was getting dark, and we noticed some of our neighbors were shooting off fireworks, so we stayed in the driveway and watched that for a bit. The next day we were going to a birthday party, so once the kids were asleep, my husband baked a pie.

And not just any pie, but the best pecan pie I've ever had! Oh man...it was soooo good! I have to get the recipe from him so I can post it. It really was to die for! :)

Monday was the party and I figured since it was a party, I should make some cupcakes. Nothing fancy, just something festive. :)

They turned out really cute, and they weren't that hard to make either! :) After the party we came home and my brother and cousins came over again to play some board games then we watched a movie. Overall it was an amazingly fun weekend! :) I hope you all had a great weekend as well. And since I got so much done this weekend, I also have a BBQ mini treasury for you! Enjoy!

Happy First Day of Summer!

Even though lately the temps around here make it feel like the middle of July, today is in fact the first day of summer! And the beginning of summer around here always means two things 1) school is out 2) the carnival is back! :)

Every year after the last week of school the carnival comes to town! There's rides, games, food, and fireworks! I like going on the nice gentle rides, like the merry-go-round, but my sister and brother were always the ones to go on the scary rides! Of course my favorite part is the fair food. Where else can you get deep-fried cookies and candy bars, nevermind the hot dogs, cheesesteaks, funnel cake, and (my personal favorite) cotton candy!

The first date my husband ever asked me on was to the carnival. :) He agreed to go the ferris wheel with me even though he was afraid of heights. It was too cute. :) Summer means a lot of things, but the beginning of summer will always be carnival time to me! I hope you enjoy this carnival themed mini treasury! :)

Nice Relaxing Weekend :)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was nice and relaxing, and I actually got quite a bit done too! I finally got around to fixing the pictures from my "little" brothers' graduation. Here they are after they both walked. :)

They both graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors Concentrations! Alex (on the left) got a degree in Accounting and Tony ([DigitalMushroom] on the right) got a degree in Art with minors in Advertising and Art History. Identical twins, but very different. :) If you know anyone in the New Jersey area looking for fantastic workers in either Advertising/Illustration or Accounting let me know! They are both available for hire! :)

I also did a LOT of work on my Ravenclaw ornament! I think it's turning out pretty well. :)

I got the raven attached. The wings were REALLY hard! I'm going to back the whole thing with black when I'm done, so I'm hoping that will give them a little more strength, but we'll see. The banner turned out nice. But I have a LOT of embroidering to do yet! More updates soon!

What else? Oh! Tony (DigitalMushroom) Made a really cool video game treasury in Treasury East this weekend! Check it out!

No school, like the old school!

That's pretty much it for the moment. I'm actually planning on working on some clay sometime this week. So maybe I'll have some more pieces to post towards Friday. :) Hope you all have a great week! See you tomorrow with a beautiful blue mini treasury! Bye! :)

New stuff! And other stuff.

I didn't get much done with my Etsy shop today, but I did help my brother Tony (DigitalMushroom) get his shop reopened. He (along with his twin brother Alex) just graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rowan University! Alex graduated with an Accounting degree and Tony graduated with a degree in Art. They are identical twins, but as you can see, they are very different. :) Anyway, today I helped Tony open his shop again, and have been taking pictures of some of his work for his portfolio. He's going to a advertising portfolio day in Philadelphia on Thursday to get advice on his portfolio. I'm kinda hoping they all really like it and offer him a job too, but I'm not sure if it's that kind of seminar or not. Oh, and on top of reopening his shop, he also posted a new piece!

Primitive Space Invader Polymer Clay Refrigerator Magnet

I think it's cute. :) It's different because it's a video game piece, but it's primitive. The old and new aspects of it together make it really unique. :) Well, back to work for me. Time to feed the monkeys...I mean children. ;)

Have a great night! :)

No post today.

That's kind of a silly thing to say isn't it? What I mean is no pictures today. :) Today is cleaning the house day because tomorrow my youngest brothers (the Uncle Twins) are graduating from college! They are 10 years younger then me, so it's very weird seeing them graduate. It makes me feel ancient! Anyway, today I have to clean because tomorrow the in-laws have the kids all day while I'm gone, which means I won't be able to get much of anything done tomorrow. Generally if I miss a day of cleaning, it's bad. So yeah, double cleaning today! Tomorrow I plan on posting right before I leave (I hope), so check back to see what tomorrow's theme is! Have a great day! :)

Happy Black Friday Everyone

So who among you went out before the sun came up to snag some great deals on hot items? Well I sure didn't! You couldn't get me up that early if you paid me! I'm not a morning person AT ALL. :) I'm sure my mom did though, and I'm pretty sure some of my friends did as well. And, as I usually do this time of year, I would just like to add this public service message about holiday shopping: BE NICE TO THE SERVICE INDUSTRY PEOPLE.

That includes store employees, wait staff at restaurants, gas station attendants, etc. Basically if the person is being paid to help you, you need to be nice to them. You need to remember that while you chose to get up and drive to the mall at 6am, they have been there since 5am and would rather be in bed. But since they have bills to pay, here they are working in retail (or the food service industry) at the worst time of year to work in retail (or the food service industry). And as someone who worked at the mall for 10 years (4 of those in a Christmas store) and in the food service industry for 4 years, I can say that peace on earth and goodwill toward men is one of the nicest things you can give your cashier or store employee this time of year. That and patience; you will only be in line for another 10 minutes tops, your cashier has another 5 hours till their shift ends. So be nice and have a happy shopping...I mean holiday season! :)

No back to our regularly scheduled post! Which just happens to involve shopping as well! I figured since today is the second biggest shopping day of the year (in real life, not online) that I would use this opportunity to "pimp" my friends and family's Etsy stores. :) So here we go, a Selections collage of my friends and family (and me!).
