Cookie Weekend!
Quick post today! :) This weekend was a lot of fun and FULL of junk food! My husband made a bunch of cookies for our Christmas party on Saturday. Then on Sunday we went to my mom's and the kids decorated some gingerbread men. :) Well they mostly just dumped sprinkles on them and ate all the chocolate chips, but they did have fun! :) With all the cookies in their various forms around this weekend, I decided that Christmas cookies would be a good theme for today's mini treasury! Enjoy! :)
And make sure you check out the big treasury for even more goodies! :)
If I don't get a chance to post again before Christmas, I hope you have a beautiful holiday! Stay safe and don't eat too much! ;)
Have a great day!

Oy!
I guess I should have taken this week off instead of last week! All three kids are currently cycling through a stomach virus: 1 down, 1 currently sick, 1 to go. I'm HOPING beyond hope, that my husband and I don't get it too! Anyway, I was able to post a new piece I finished Monday. It's a sugar plum, and it's the first fully beaded piece I've ever done. It came out cute! :) It wasn't has hard to the beading as I thought it was going to be. If this piece sells I may do another plum and maybe a couple other beaded pieces. :) Anyway, since I didn't have a lot of time to come up with another theme, today is officially sugar plum day on my blog! Enjoy!
Oh and I also did a treasury to go with today's post. You can check it out here. Have a sweet day, and try to stay healthy! :)

Pirates vs. Ninjas!
Who would win? It's the question of the ages. Sure "Where do we come from?" and "If a tree falls in the woods, would anyone hear it?" are good questions too, but this one is at the forefront of geek discussions everywhere!
So who would win in fight between pirates and ninjas? Well that depends on who you ask. :) I've always been a ninja person myself, though pirate ships are really cool too. It really comes down to stealth and finesse vs. power and fearlessness. Ninjas rule the night, pirates rule the sea. Ninjas have cool pointy (and ridiculously well made) weapons, pirates have swords and guns. And while ninjas train their whole lives to develop their skills, pirates get to get drunk on boat in the middle of the Caribbean (among other places). :) So who do you think would win? You can cast your vote in my poll on the sidebar and we'll see is triumphant! :)
In all honesty I have no idea what got me thinking about pirates and ninjas, but it did lead me to create two really cool new Christmas ornaments! :) The first one is a pirate flag.

The perfect ornament to add some Yo Ho Ho to your Christmas tree! ;) The second piece is ninja related.Ninja Christmas Star Shuriken Ornament - Embroidered Felt
This would make the perfect Secret Santa present! And since there are so many awesome ninjas and pirates on Etsy, I made a treasury in honor of them too!Ninjas vs. Pirates!

Minty!
Yesterday was mint day at my house. First I took some pics of a mint plant I got from my parents house.

Once long ago I planted some mint in a makeshift garden in my mother's yard. After a couple of years, my mom decided the garden was too much work, so my dad cut it down and planted grass. Unbeknownst to us mint is a weed and no matter how many times my dad tried to cut it back, he could never get rid of it! :)
A week or so ago i decided to see if there was any of the mint left in the yard. Sure enough, I found a nice piece growing right next to the air conditioner! So I pulled it up and I'm going to plant it in a hanging planter on my new porch!
I also got two candy cane felt ornaments finished and posted in my Etsy shop. I did something different with these ornaments: I used satin ribbon as an accent! I think they came out really cute. :) So I thought today I would do a theme of red and green mint! Enjoy! :)

Merry Christmas Everybody!
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David): To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, “Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, “Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.” And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
And all they that heard it wondered at those things, which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
- Luke 2:1-20
Merry Christmas! And God bless us, every one!

More Letters
So I posted another letter ornament today. I decided to do an even more custom ornament. On top of picking the letter, the buyer can also choose the felt and thread color. However, this ornament, does not include holly leaves. I figure they look nice with red, but might look strange with cotton candy pink! :)
I'm gonna make 10 or 12 up for the craft show. I think I'll do at least half of them in red, 1) cause I have a bunch of red 2) I can always add on holly and use them for the Holly Letter Ornaments. Alright, back to work!
Later!
