And the winner of the bacon is....

...Cindy from hellcatvintage! Congrats Cindy! I'll send your information to HashDelectableEdible and let her know you'd like to try the candied bacon! Thanks to everyone who participated. And if you didn't win, you can always try entering my current giveaway here! :) What am I giving away this time?

Why a cute little kitty named Mia! :) Check out my Giveaways page for more information! :)

It's rainy here again, and my kids are starting to climb the walls. I'm not sure how mothers survived before TV and computers! But even with electric entertainment the kids aren't giving me two minutes to myself the last couple days. :P This means I haven't had time to make up today's treasury yet. But rather then delay in telling you all who won this morning, I'm going to post this now, and post the treasury after I've completed it.

Wish me luck and I'll see you soon! ;)

Monday is Giveaway Day! :)

Since I'm not a fan of Mondays, I thought I'd start this work week off with something fun. How about some giveaways? :)

As you might now I am currently running an awesome giveaway with HashDelectableEdible. She has been kind enough to offer one of my loyal blog readers a sample order of her scrumptiously yummy bacon!

And not just any bacon, this is candied bacon! If you win, you can choose between regular, chipotle, or chocolate covered! And yes I did say chocolate covered bacon. See?

And I can tell you from experience, that the chocolate covered bacon is REALLY good! :) So now that I have your complete attention, I bet you're wondering how you can win this mouth-watering treat. Well it's very simple, just follow the instructions below. :)

- First, Follow my blog.
- Then, Go to HashDelectableEdible and check out all the yummy treats available.
- When you're done, go Here, and tell me in the comments on the page, which flavor bacon you'd like to try and why. Make sure you leave me a way to contact you, so I can let you know if you're the winner.
- You can also get an extra chance to win by favoriting HashDelectableEdible on Etsy! :)

The contest runs through October 4th and the winner will be announced on Tuesday October 5th. :) For more information on this contest you can check out my Giveaways page.

And there's more!

Just in case you're not a big bacon fan, I'll be starting a non-bacon giveaway next week! What will the giveaway be? Something cute and cuddly and looking for a good home. I'm of course talking about an orphaned kitten. :)

Isn't she cute? :D So come back next week for your chance to win Mia the Kitten from threadbareknitter! :) Make sure you check out my Giveaways page for more information!

Have a great Monday! :)

Just a quick post today.

My youngest is sick again. This time he has croup. I swear there has not been a month this year where all of us were healthy at the same time! At least it's nice out today. I'm gonna open up all the windows and air out the house a bit. I'm hoping for a nice breezy afternoon. :)

In other news my cousin Amber, formally thewanderingknitter, has just opened up a new shop and filled it with knitted goodness. Here new shop is called threadbareknitter and it is chock full of cute kitties, scarves, and knit bags. This is my current favorite kitten she has for sale:

Mia the Orphaned Kitten

Okay, that's it for the moment. Tomorrow, more from my treasury series: Across Etsy. Its theme will be Holidays! :) Have a great day! :)

Featured Seller of the Day 11/12/2009

Okay so this should have been yesterday's feature, but I got so caught up in the Etsy drama, that I totally forgot to post it! Oops! Well without further adieu, here is today's featured seller!

Today's featured seller is a talented knitter that specializes in extremely cute stuffed animals! :) Her shop is called:

Lullaby Lily, hand knit creatures that comfort

The simple beauty and outright cuteness of these pieces make them completely irresistible!

Cat in Cream

Purrr! This pretty kitty is made of undyed cotton and stuffed with pure wool stuffing. The result is a kitten the color of rich cream, perfect for hugging and snuggling. :) The artist does not add a face so that the child that owns it, can add their own expressions to it while they play. (It's hard to pretend your kitten is sad or sleeping if it has big eyes or a huge smile!)

Sure cats are purrrfect pets, but what about a more exotic stuffed friend?

Silky Pinky Piggy

This plump piglet is done up in shades of pinks. He is not only huggably cute but super soft and silky! I personally think he looks slightly shy, and seems like he might need some help being introduced to the rest of your stuffed animal friends. But once he gets to know everyone, I'm sure he'll fit in nicely! :)

This little piggy still not exotic enough for you? Well I'm sure you don't yet own one of these lovely creatures. :)

Giant Snow Slug

Yes that is a gaint slug plushie, why do you ask? :) Okay so maybe in real life not very many people have pet slugs, but who could possibley resist this cute plushie one? Instead of being slimey this big beauty is soft and squishable (in a good way!). And if white is not your color the artist has made up a wide varity of colors, sizes, and textures, so you can find the perfect slug for you. :D

Tomorrow, we will be revisiting the world of geekery. ::Hint - She also works with yarn!::

Later!

Featured Seller of the Day 10/17/2009

Today's featured seller of the day is knitter that makes beautiful felted pieces! Her shop is called:

Knit and Felted Goods From the Foot of Pikes Peak

Gretchen is a Colorado artist who draws her inspiration from the beauty of the mountains that surround her. Here is a perfect example:

Bird's Nest Felted Bowl

This beautifully simple knit bowl was felted into the simple form of a birds nest. The added detail of the felted eggs adds the perfect pop of color, but the best part is the felted yarn strands. They make the piece more organic and add touch of realism to the bowl.

This next piece seems to draw it's colors straight from the mountains themselves.

Purple Felted Drawstring Pouch - Small

This pouch is both useful and beautiful. It seems to steal it's heathered purple color directly from the rocky mountains. Think "purple mountain's majesty" is just a line from a song? Then you have never seen them in person!

And one last piece, to get you in the mood for fall.

Pumpkin Seeds Bowl No. 2

This lovely orange bowl is filled with felted pumpkin seeds, mimicking the inside of a hollowed out pumpkin. The pumpkin seeds are so realistic, that they look like you could reach in and pick them up! A perfect catch-all to give your home a touch of fall!

Tomorrow I will be featuring a two person Etsy team. ::Hint - They make very unique jewelry!::

Something New

So, I'm getting kind of bored posting just my own stuff. So I think I'm going to try something new and see how it goes. Once a day I'm going to post one of my favorite shops and a few of their best pieces, until I run out of favorite shops, at which point I'll take suggestions on who I should post. Now this might take a while as I have a LOT of favorites, but we'll see how it goes. :) I'm going to start from my oldest favorites, and work towards my newest. Let me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions for shops.

Today's shop is:

Demented Creatures and Knit Dice Bags

I’ve got to give props to my cousin Amber, the owner of the thewanderingknitter. Without her, I never would have opened a shop on Etsy! She has some beautiful scarves for sale at the moment. Here is my favorite:

Midnight Blue Lace Scarf

It's a slightly darker blue in person, but very pretty!

Now while her scarves are beautiful, her specialty is strange creatures! At the moment she has a cute set of Edgar Allan Poe inspired stuffed kittens as her shop's featured item. Okay maybe cute is the wrong word. ;) This one is named after the love interest in the poem "The Raven".

Lenore the Halloween Kitten

I've been told by a reliable source (namely Amber herself) that she will be posting some less creepy fall, winter, and Christmas themed kittens later this week.

Now for all you gamer geeks out there, I will direct you to the last of her specialties! Hand knit, hand felted, dice bags! I actually own two (well one is my husband's) and they are perfect for carrying around your precious dice and gaming pieces! This one not only has a cool striped pattern to it, but it also has a hand felted, appliqué leaf decoration that was added to the front! Very wood elf-esque. :)

Dice Bag - Cameo Leaf

She loves to do special orders and has also recently been working on some new items (some cute demented bunnies among other things). Overall, a very cool knitting shop and the reason that I am now on Etsy!

That's all for now stayed tune till tomorrow for the next featured shop.

::Hint - It's full of pastel prints!::

Later! :)

Man it's hot out this week!

Back from my mom's. I got a lot of pictures taken, but I haven't looked at them yet. That's next on the list. Oh I took pics of my brother's (Digital Mushroom's) stuff to, so technically he can post stuff as soon as I finish fixing them! :)

In other news, my cousin Heather (Gilliantwo), Amber's (The Wandering Knitter's) younger sister, opened her Etsy shop today! She has some scarves posted at the moment, but will also be selling some knitted flowers! :) Make sure you check out her shop! Here's one of her scarves!

Pretty isn't it? :)

All right now on to fix pics!

Later!
