Busy, busy, busy!

I am currently working on tomorrow's featured seller of the day, so I know it will get done on time! :) But I had to show you the other project I have been working on.

3 Felt Sushi Rolls with Pickled Ginger and Wasabi Pincushions or Display Pieces

I've been working on these piece off and on for a couple of weeks and I decided yesterday I was going to finish them today come hell or high water! And I finished! I think they came out cute. :) Okay back to work before the kids wake up!

Another Mini Update

I haven't had a lot of time to update my shop lately, as my husband and I have been looking at houses. We are actually in the process, of starting the process, of bidding on a house we like, and I would just like to say, that house shopping and everything that it involves, TAKES FOREVER! It's been a whole week since we looked at the house and decided we wanted to bid on it, and we haven't even been approved for the mortgage yet! Well at any rate, hopefully we'll get the mortgage part settled at the beginning of the week, then put a bid on the house. Keep your fingers crossed that, if we get to the bidding part before someone else does, they accept our offer! :)

In crafting news, I promise you (and me) that I will get my sushi rolls posted this week! :) I also need to finish that Hufflepuff ornament that I started FOREVER ago. Okay time for bed.

Well that was a long week!

I am finally feeling better! Yay! Now hopefully I can get back to sewing and posting. I got nothing done this week, but the very basic cleaning and emailing. It's no fun being sick. :(

In other news I submitted some pics to craftgawker and so far one of them was excepted! :D

Nigiri Salmon Sushi Felt Pincushion

I love how this piece turned out so I'm very happy that they liked my picture. :)

I think I shall turn in early tonight. I promise tomorrow will include a Featured Seller of the Day!

Feeling Better :)

I'm glad I took it easy today, I feel much better tonight. :) I did end up reposting the Thanksgiving pieces that just sold. So here they are! :)

Thanksgiving Harvest Indian Corn Polymer Clay Magnet (Made To Order)

Thanksgiving Harvest Cornucopia Polymer Clay Magnet (Made To Order)

Thanksgiving Pilgrim Hat Polymer Clay Magnet (Made to Order)

Thanksgiving Roast Turkey Clay Refrigerator Magnet (Made To Order)

I reposted a couple other fall pieces too. Feel free to check them out here, if you are interested. :) And since my cousin Amber is bugging me about it, here are the pins I made up to go with the sushi pincushion I just posted.

"Wasabi Paste, Pickled Ginger, and a Cup of Soy Sauce"

I like the ginger and the wasabi is okay, but the bowl of soy sauce came out not so great. The bowl part is too thick and the white clay ended with a bunch of fuzzies stuck to it. Really, it just looks bad. I was going to just remake that one piece and then include them with the nigiri, but I tried them out with it, and it just didn't look right. I think one of the things I like about the salmon nigiri, is it's very simple looking. And adding the pins just took away from that too much. Since the ginger and wasabi did come out pretty good, I might try to remake the soy sauce next time I'm playing with the clay. But if I do get it right, I'll sell the pins separately.

Time for bed. Goodnight everyone!

Well, that was fast!

I was going do a quick post about the Thanksgiving pieces I made, but they sold already! So I guess this is a quicker post then I thought. :)

I did post my nigiri sushi too. And since that's still there, here you go!

Nigiri Salmon Sushi Felt Pincushion

It turned out really cute, but I didn't like the pins I made to go with it, so I'm selling it by itself. :) Maybe I'll repost those Thanksgiving pieces as custom listings. Hm... If I do, I'll let you guys know! :)

Sushi Rolls

Last night I finally finished the sushi roll part of my sushi set. It was actually much harder then I thought it was going to be. But after I figure out how I wanted to attach the "fillings" to the rice it went much faster. Here's a pic of the rolls all together:

I think the salmon came out the best, but I still like the roe one the best. :) Now all that's left is to make a felt dollop of wasabi and a fan of ginger. And the set will be ready to post!

I also finally got a pic of my finished nirgiri salmon sushi.

I like this one a lot! I'm going to make pins for it, hopefully tonight. If it sells I think I'll do a tuna one next. :)

Today is all about getting the house clean then keeping it that way, so there is not as much to do tomorrow before the Halloween party. :) Have a great weekend everybody!

Sigh...

Posting a quick update on my sushi pincushion, cause my cousin is nagging me to show her pics. :) So here it is so far:

It's salmon nigiri sushi. I would have liked the white "fat" lines to be slightly thicker, but overall I think it looks pretty cute. :) It's slightly more orange in real life, almost exactly the color of raw salmon. I think I'm going to wrap some "nori" around it, cause it's a little plain. And it's much bigger then I thought it was going to be. It's 4" x 2" x 2", not sure how that happened, but since it is big I'll probably sell it by itself.

Okay, no more posting till tomorrow!

A New Things Update :)

So me and my Etsy addicted family have been busy lately. And since they are too lazy to have and/or update their own blogs, I'll let you know what they have been up to. ;)

Amber (thewanderingknitter) just posted the rest of her Halloween Kitties I told you about in her Featured Seller post. :) She also posted some fall kitties, this one is my favorite...and it's not cause his name is Jacob either. :P

Jacob the Fall Kitten

Aren't those colors beautiful? Perfect for the fall! :)

Next on my hit list, is my brother Tony (DigitalMushroom). He's at school at the moment, so whenever he has time to finish a piece I post it for him (cause I'm the best big sister ever!). Anyway here's his newest piece:

Halloween Kittycorn - Candy Corn Polymer Clay Kitty Cat Figurine

It's a kittycorn; isn't that cute! :) It even has orange paw prints on it's paws (you can see them in the last pic of the listing). :) I have another piece of his to post, but I need a better pic of it. Hopefully I can get that taken tomorrow.

Ooo! It's my turn! :) So I was making something (I forget what now) and I got distracted playing with the red clay, and ended up making a pin. It's my first attempt at jewelry, so be kind...

Pink and Red Heart Polymer Clay Pin - Little Bit of Love

It's cute, but it's heavier then I thought it was going to be (again, never made jewelry before) so it'll really work best only when used on thicker fabrics. I think it's cute, but I'm not sure if I like it enough to make more. I'd like to make some jewelry, but maybe something a little lighter next time. :)

I'm almost done with my most recent sushi felt piece. It turned out bigger then I thought it would, so I might make some polymer clay pins and sell it by itself and make some smaller rolls to go with my first piece. I was going to take a pic of it "in progress" but I don't know where my husband put my camera...so I guess tomorrow I'll post a pic. :)

Okay that's it for now. Later! :)

Yum sushi!

No I didn't get Japanese take-out for dinner; though I wish I had. I got distracted from my Harry Potter ornament, and made up a sushi pincushion! I'm going to be making more and probably selling them as a set.

It's just slightly bigger then a large roll and the "salmon roe" is also just slightly bigger then it would be in real life. Okay time to clean up my mess.

Later! :)
