I'm not dead!

Or a zombie! ;) I'm just trying to dig out from under all the stuff that has accumulated in my work area. You know, so I can see the floor again! I'll be back tomorrow, with a real post I promise! :)

While you wait, why don't you enter my current giveaway? You could win this cute knit kitten! :)

Head to my Giveaways page for more information! But hurry, the contest ends on Monday!

See you tomorrow! :)

So for those of you wondering why I didn't post anything today...

Today is Second Thanksgiving! We'll first Thanksgiving if you are going by the food being eaten (we had pasta on Thursday). Alright now that you are confused, let me explain. Rather then have to go to two different Thanksgiving dinners in one day, usually we eat at my mom's on Thanksgiving, then have my husbands family over on Saturday for "Second Thanksgiving". So today (as per usual) I was awaken by the sound of the smoke detector going off, and the smell of turkey and stuffing wafting from the kitchen (it's not really Thanksgiving until the smoke alarm goes off). ;) Since then we have been scrambling around trying to clean up the house before my in-laws get here. We are now pretty much ready, so I'm taking a moment to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving again! And since my in-laws will be here any minute, I guess I will have to skip today's feature (again). I have tomorrow's feature all set up though, so see you then!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today I am thankful for all the blessings God has given me!

  • God's love and grace
  • My family (as a whole)
  • My husband and kids (especially!)
  • My friends
  • That I have a nice place to live
  • That my husband has a job and I can stay home with my kids
  • And of course that we have good food to eat!

And on that last note, I give you a special Thanksgiving edition of my Saturday Selections (even though it's Thursday). Today's theme is the center piece of most Americans' Thanksgiving dinner: the turkey!

Saturday Selections! 11/14/2009

Today's Saturday selections will feature a harvest decoration that goes back hundreds of years: dried corn. Maize or Indian corn has been around for centuries. And every Thanksgiving season they are used to decorate homes all over the country. Let's take a look at some beautiful examples of crafts featuring this harvest staple.

Feeling Better :)

I'm glad I took it easy today, I feel much better tonight. :) I did end up reposting the Thanksgiving pieces that just sold. So here they are! :)

Thanksgiving Harvest Indian Corn Polymer Clay Magnet (Made To Order)

Thanksgiving Harvest Cornucopia Polymer Clay Magnet (Made To Order)

Thanksgiving Pilgrim Hat Polymer Clay Magnet (Made to Order)

Thanksgiving Roast Turkey Clay Refrigerator Magnet (Made To Order)

I reposted a couple other fall pieces too. Feel free to check them out here, if you are interested. :) And since my cousin Amber is bugging me about it, here are the pins I made up to go with the sushi pincushion I just posted.

"Wasabi Paste, Pickled Ginger, and a Cup of Soy Sauce"

I like the ginger and the wasabi is okay, but the bowl of soy sauce came out not so great. The bowl part is too thick and the white clay ended with a bunch of fuzzies stuck to it. Really, it just looks bad. I was going to just remake that one piece and then include them with the nigiri, but I tried them out with it, and it just didn't look right. I think one of the things I like about the salmon nigiri, is it's very simple looking. And adding the pins just took away from that too much. Since the ginger and wasabi did come out pretty good, I might try to remake the soy sauce next time I'm playing with the clay. But if I do get it right, I'll sell the pins separately.

Time for bed. Goodnight everyone!

Well, that was fast!

I was going do a quick post about the Thanksgiving pieces I made, but they sold already! So I guess this is a quicker post then I thought. :)

I did post my nigiri sushi too. And since that's still there, here you go!

Nigiri Salmon Sushi Felt Pincushion

It turned out really cute, but I didn't like the pins I made to go with it, so I'm selling it by itself. :) Maybe I'll repost those Thanksgiving pieces as custom listings. Hm... If I do, I'll let you guys know! :)
